This is just one of the best films ever made. A true classic. Dustin Hoffman is brilliant in it - the role that cemented his career - and all the other actors and actresses are marvellous, too. This is simply a tremendous piece of work. The first time I watched it, I didn't quite understand everything that happened, but upon the second watch, every little thing about it suddenly became clear and excellently done. (It's especially good watching it whilst reading the film script at the same time.)

I've been reading the 101 best scripts and this is by far the best. It seemed like I read the whole thing in five minutes. It just zips along. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I guess it might be confusing if I didn't know the film so well, but I'll never know now because Dustin Hoffman's delivery of Ben's lines is unforgettable. Once seen, never forgotten. And Anne Bancroft too. What great stars. What a great script.
